Taking Action

“We have to roll up our sleeves …”

“… hope is about taking action.”

These were the words spoken by change-making extraordinaire, Jane Goodall.

After 60+ years of conservation work it is to be expected that she has witnessed a number of moments which feel hopeless. Yet it is precisely the enduring nature of her work - the changes she has made - that has sustained hope.

I find it inspiring to take these lessons into the change we seek. Whether the changes are immediate, or larger ones for a lifetime, our actions reinforce possibility and sustain our motivation for the journey.

We must keep making progress, doing whatever we can, day by day.

As we kick off another week, it has me revisiting these important questions:

What is the change I seek?

and

Where shall I roll up my sleeves and get to work?
