Best Laid Plans

Ah, the best laid plans of mice and men …

Robert Burns might have added me to that list.

Mondays can see us begin with one plan, only to be faced with an alternative reality.

It’s no wonder that adaptability and flexibility are critical skills for work and life in the 21st century.

The ability to maintain the space and flex in our work and lives, allowing us to change tack at late notice, and to ebb and flow accordingly are skills we are practicing often.

It may not be by choice, however as we practice, and master, these skills it shifts our expectations around the way we work, and our ability to be responsive and adaptable in our complex, dynamic environments.

I’m curious, when your best laid plans go awry, how do you flex those adaptability muscles and respond accordingly?
