When To Stop?

I can’t stop.

Words that might be spoken by a child running really really fast, or when we are enjoying a box of chocolates, or streaming a binge-able series.

And, sometimes “I can’t stop” applies to our work.

We spend much time focusing on the barriers to beginning. It turns out that stopping things can be as difficult as starting things. What if we shifted our focus to what stops us from stopping.

Comfort. Sunk costs. Busyness. Momentum. Outward pressure. Inner expectations.

Are some reasons that sit behind the “I can’t stop” feeling.

Discerning when and how to stop is a skill worth mastering.

Stopping opens time, space and possibility. It opens the door to new, and/or better. Stopping makes starting a whole lot easier.

As we kick off a new week, I’m curious, what might be a good thing to stop this week?
