What A Relief

We breathed a sigh of relief.

It wasn’t too bad, after all.

Our super-powered, story telling brains are good at building up the anticipation and, too often, dread at what lies ahead.

Perhaps we’ve watched too many movies and we run through the worst-case scenarios. It is not surprising that fear and resistance abound.

Once done, it’s good to remind ourselves that things are rarely as bad as we expect them to be.

And next time, perhaps we can get our brains to tell us an alternative, reality-based story instead.

I’m curious, when did you last find yourself thinking, that wasn’t as bad as I expected?
