It Is Enough

It’s never enough.

If my dog could talk, he would agree with this statement. After eating, he sits staring at the biscuit tin, waiting for more. He does this after his bigger-sized breakfast, and after his smaller-sized dinner. Because, it is never enough.

There is often a never-enoughness in our workplaces, too.

No matter how much we do, it can feel as though it isn’t enough. There is always more on the to-do list, more on the ideas list, more on the coulda-shoulda-woulda list.

After a little while, my dog concedes that he has had enough to eat, his stomach is full, and he falls asleep contented.

As we round out our working week, I wonder, how we might, too, decide it is enough.
