Keep Pedaling

As the large group of weekend cyclists raced past me, I heard one shout to another, “we’re so far behind”.

It’s a sentiment applicable to more than a weekend bike ride.

Whether we are planners or pantsers, we’ve often got a sense of where we want to be with our projects and goals. When we feel like we are falling behind, it surfaces stress and overwhelm.

Our energy goes to the anguish of what we can do to catch up, or the need to start again.

With a deep breath in, we could ask ourselves:

What if we’re not really behind? What if we are precisely where we are meant to be?

And, what if we simply keep on pedaling?

We might be surprised where we end up.
