Experience New

In an online class today, we had someone attend for the first time, joining a larger group of regulars.

No matter how confident, enthusiastic, outgoing, and/or motivated we are, stepping into something new can be daunting.

Everyday experiences like these help to build our capability to navigate change and uncertainty.

We may not know what to expect, and we do it anyway.

We may not know anyone else, and we do it anyway.

We may not know if it will work (or work for us), and we do it anyway.

It may be a positive experience, or not so. Either way, we learn something from it, and we gain comfort in the range of feelings that may result.

And, we’re more likely to venture into other new experiences.

Stepping out of our comfort zones isn’t only for the big things. Which makes me curious, where might you seek out a new experience today?
