World Views

There’s a great saying, if we can’t see eye to eye, let’s try heart to heart.

As the shortest member of my household, I’m often reminded that I have a different view of the world. I find myself looking for a chair to stand upon and see how things appear from “up there”.

Of course, our unique worldview comes down to more than simply our physical vantage point as we each have our own narrative, beliefs and way of seeing the world.

It can be easy to forget that others don’t always see things as we do. Yet, with self-awareness we are better placed to access the empathy to know and understand others.

And, we don’t need to climb on a chair to do that!
