Trust People

I often hear leaders say “of course we trust our people”.

Unfortunately, I often see occasions where actions don’t match words.

How do we revisit the building blocks of our workplace cultures - our values, beliefs and behaviours - so that what we do and say displays trust rather than mistrust?

When I listen to, and observe, people within high-trust cultures, it is evident that it is possible to create an environment where people are valued, enjoy coming to work and are motivated to make a real contribution.

As the Ernest Hemingway quote says, “the best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.”

Sounds like a good place to start.
