Time Stretches

Time is elastic.

This quote from author Laura Vanderkam comes to mind when reflecting on the week that was.

The time optimist might believe that it can stretch forever, adding more to the list, saying ‘yes’ on repeat.

The time skeptic might not see any movement is possible and firmly allocate the available time as is.

And, some of us might ebb and flow between the two, seeing how moments might stretch into eternity, whilst others allow no wriggle room. Fitting things in to the time, or allowing time to fit the things.

As we close out the week, we might ask,

how close to the limits did time stretch to accommodate all the things that our week held;

was it a stretch too far, perhaps;

or, did it feel boundless?

And, how might we - and time - adjust to enjoy greater elasticity going forward?
