Take A Break

Thinking is hard work. 🧠

Our brains comprise only 2 percent of our body mass yet can consume 20 percent of our energy needs*

The constant change we encounter every day requires us to do a lot of thinking.

It can take a toll.

What can we put in place to counter this?

When we are lifting weights at the gym, we know we need to take a break between sets to rest our muscles.

It’s the same for our brain.

One step might be in finding an escape from the thinking. When we do a ‘non-thinking’ activity, take a walk or other exercise, listen to music, meditate, have a nap we are reducing the energy requirements of the brain.

It leaves us more able to think clearly and deeply, solve problems and navigate change.

What do you do to give your brain a rest?
