Similar Ideas

As I arrived, 5 minutes before opening time, to collect a parcel, I noted the others gathering before me.

We all had the same idea.

Of course, it is peak parcel period and this isn’t surprising. It is, though, a reminder that we often think our ideas are unique when, in reality, there will always be at least one other person with similar thoughts.

Getting in early and beating the rush isn’t a unique idea, I know. History, though, is littered with ‘one-off’ great ideas that have been thought of, or tried before the break through one.

And, just because we know we’re unlikely to the the ONLY person thinking of the idea, it doesn’t mean we can’t try.

Putting our ideas into action is like the saying: you’ll never, never know, if you never give it a go.
