Seeds Of Today

“All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today.”

So goes this Native American proverb.

With a (little) bit of much-needed rain falling here, the conversation turns to gardens, farms, and all things nature.

“All the weeds will return, too”, a colleague lamented.

Yes, and so will the crops, the greenery, and the flowers.

When we have planted enough seeds for what we want to grow;

When we maintain the hope that the conditions for growth will prevail (eventually, and enough);

When we accept a few weeds as part of the process;

What we get is a sight to behold.

When we’re sowing, planting, harvesting, weeding, we are growing, and that is a good thing, don’t you agree.
