Right There

Right before our eyes.

It’s that moment as you open your mouth to ask where something is that you spot it. It is right there before your eyes.

How often is an object, an idea, or a solution found in this way?!

Too often, I’d suggest.

It feels as though we spend all of our time looking, where we thought it was, or where we think it might be.

It feels as though it is hiding from us.

It feels as though we cannot think or see our way through.

There’s a reason we describe a-ha moments, use lightbulbs to describe breakthroughs, and nod with surprise and knowing. Because we know that it will never get old to wonder at how it (whatever ‘it’ may be) is so often right there before our eyes.
