Patience, Grasshopper
Patience, young grasshopper.
If you’re feeling the surprise, impatience, frustration or more that comes from realising another month has passed,
it might just be the time to whisper these words to yourself.
Goals are great to point us in a direction, and to clarify an intention.
Holding them lightly helps us to resist the urge for control and to let go of our expectations.
After all,
time passes as is its wont, and
life happens as it happens.
Our real goal is to ebb, flow and adapt as need be to navigate time and life and all that happens within it.
It takes patience, and in the words of St Augustine all those centuries ago, ‘patience is the reward of patience’.
So, if you’re ending the week, the month, the season with the feeling that it’s all too late, how might you practice some patience to keep you on track?
