Passing The Test

Author Paulo Coelho writes,

life has many ways of testing a person’s will, either by having nothing happen at all or by having everything happening at once.

This time of year it can feel like the latter.

When we are feeling this way, our mental and physical bandwidth reduces substantially and we find ourselves unable to respond to all the directions we’re being pulled in. Rather than persist in bouncing from one thing to another, finding the minimum viable step we can take today and placing our focus there enables us to move forward.

We must step, slowly and surely, through the “everything at once” times and recalibrate during the “nothing at all” times.

Yes, these ups and downs in our work and life test our will, many a time over. Knowing that we have the resilience and persistence to navigate through has us passing the test with flying colours.
