Messy Middle

On the pathway to learning new skills or knowledge, there often comes a point when we find ourselves confused and overwhelmed.

This is where I found myself today as I worked my way through the mini-course I’m taking.

We may embark on learning something new with the expectation of a linear progression. Yet we often find ourselves stuck in what is termed the “messy middle”.

The key is to persist.

I review the lesson videos again, discuss the learning with others and practice the new skills over and over again. On the other side is the learning, growth and understanding I need to apply this new information.

And that makes the messy middle worth it, don’t you agree.
