It Happens

It happens.

It being…

… mistakes

… oversights

… mindless moments

And when it happens, along comes the usual reactions.

It costs time and money.

It creates pressure and stress.

It challenges our ideals of competence and perfectionism.

It doesn’t meet expectations, whether our own, or others.

So …

we fear it happening;

we avoid and deny it when it happens;

we lose confidence and trust in ourselves; and

we ramp up the pressure in case it happens again.

It creates a vicious circle.

What if we could simply accept it happens? What if we give ourselves grace when it does? What if we pick up the pieces, zig and zag, adapt and change as need be? What if we learn and grow, ready for the next time?

As imperfect humans,

in an imperfect world,

life happens.

It always has. It always will.

It is life.
