In This Moment

In addition to the usual farewells, our meeting ended with wishes for the season’s festivities. Someone chirped in with a Happy Easter, too.

We all laughed.

Then begrudgingly we conceded it will be Easter holidays in the blink of an eye. You could almost see the joy evaporate in that moment.

It’s difficult not to get carried forward in the fast-paced nature of work and life. Always looking to what is ahead. Calendars, deadlines, timelines. Tick, tick, tick.

And, in doing so we cheat ourselves out of the power of now.

When you feel yourself being drawn toward what is coming, how might you shift the focus back to now?
