Elastic Goals

“I need elasticity in life and in pants.”

These words from poet and writer, Darby Hudson, make me smile.

As I look at what awaits for the working week after a holiday weekend, I think I would add ‘goals’ as another thing that would benefit from being elasticised.

Setting intentions.

Holding them lightly.

Discerning the important (not urgent), the good-enough (not perfect).

Knowing when to stretch, and when to pull back and rest.

There is a way to move toward the change we seek that allows for movement and comfort.

I’m curious, how might you build some elasticity into your week ahead?
