Don’t Run Away

The quote read:

I don’t know about you, but I’ve thought about running away more often as an adult than I ever did as a kid.

A humorous post on social media in honour of ‘hump day’, although there may be more truth in the statement than joke.

With recent surveys indicating that anywhere from 25 - 40% of employees are currently looking to quit their jobs it might be that a lot of adults are seeking a change.

These surveys also give us a clue as to what people are running toward, and to name a few:

Greater respect.

Meaningful work.

Recognition and opportunities for growth.

Increase in pay and benefits

Greater flexibility.

Supportive and positive working environment.

Nearly, if not, all of us have a story (or two) of needing to run away when these, and other, needs aren’t being met in our work, and workplaces.

Creating workplaces that we want to run toward is a change worth making, don’t you agree!
