Close To Home

When we consider opportunities, we often start by looking elsewhere. The grass is always greener … so they say.

Is it really?

When we start closer to home and consider what we have now (as opposed to what we don’t have) we open up a world of opportunity.

What we choose to focus our attention on is where our energy and behaviours follow. If we spend time lamenting our lack of [insert your own word here] we trigger a self-perpetuating cycle of that lack.

We may not have as much of [insert your own word here] as we might wish for, however, focussing our attention here gives us the opportunity for leverage. When our energy and efforts move in the direction of our opportunities, anything can happen.

It makes me wonder, if humans were oysters, would we lament the lack of the pearl, or would we see the grain of sand as an opportunity of what might be?

What opportunities might be closer to home than you realise?
