Baked In
“Mmmm, you’ve managed to get the flavour baked in to your dish” were the words the cooking show judge used.
In our workplaces, we have the opportunity to “bake in” flavour, and a whole lot more.
Building a team, and a whole-of-workplace, culture requires more than simply having the ingredients of purpose and values, strategies, workflows and practices, leadership, communication, and the rest.
Much like cooking, the ideal way to combine those ingredients and to cook it just so, is about discovery and practice. A curiosity and willingness to experiment, implement, adapt and change, and to embed it deeply.
Mmmmm. A baked in culture. Now that whets one’s appetite, and makes me curious: what flavour would you like to see baked into your workplace?
