All You Can Do

There are days (and weeks, and months) where your to-do list is like an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Never ending.

Much like the buffet in question, we can enjoy having a large and diverse array of projects and interests. There’s plenty of variety, and a sense of fulfilment.

There can also be a fair bit of overwhelm.

If I reflect on when I’ve eaten at a buffet, I might start by considering how I can’t wait to taste so many (all) of the different dishes, only to end up eating less than I normally do. There’s too much for my brain, and my stomach, to deal with.

As we kick off the week with our all-we-can-and-have-to-do lists, we may avoid the overwhelm by focusing, and savouring, the few “dishes” we get to.
