Without Warning

As the rain poured down, the nearby golf course raised the warning siren for the weekend golfers. The storm was coming through earlier than had been forecast.

It got me thinking how with our work, we don’t always get a warning when conditions are changing.

It’s up to us to keep an eye on the horizon and determine if a change is needed, and if so, what that change might be. It’s never easy nor 100% certain. If our work feels more important than a game of golf, the uncertainty can be overwhelming.

Fear of change could have us look up at the rain clouds and stay safe and dry in the clubhouse, perhaps until the summer months when we can reliably predict the conditions.

Yet when we move forward with optimism and adaptability as our guide, we are willing to venture out.

It’s good knowing that if things change, so can we.
