Which Path?

When my son was younger he was fussy about only wearing comfortable socks. As a result, we have accumulated many pairs of socks.

It was a classic case of taking the path of least resistance.

In many parts of work and life, we may take this path knowingly, or not. It is usually justifiable at the time.

As the saying goes, hindsight is always twenty twenty. As today’s sorting of the overflowing basket of socks reminds me, whilst the path of least resistance might save us some trouble in the short term, it can come back to bite us at some point in time.

We may not always have the energy, motivation and determination for the harder path, and at times like that, maybe there’s a middle one we might go down.
