What A Gift

“I gifted myself a sleep-in …”

As I typed this message to a friend, I paused at my choice of words. It did feel like a gift to switch off the alarm and sleep for longer.

We often carry the expectations of being productive into our weekends. The “shoulds” become our weekend to-do list.

What if reframed our expectations? What if we put the “nice to have/do” things on the “should do” list?

What if we saw rest, relaxation, rejuvenation as an essential part of a weekend well spent?

We may well find ourselves reseted, relaxed and rejuvenated.

Now that feels like a true gift, don’t you agree.
