Rest And Play

Say yes to rest and play.

As author Brene Brown reminds us “it takes courage to say yes to rest and play in a culture where exhaustion is seen as a status symbol.”

It is a courageous act to push back on the 24/7, always-on, busy as a badge approach we see in so many parts of work and life.

Instead of seeing busy - hence exhausted - as a sign of importance, popularity and success, what if we celebrated the time spent reenergising and rejuvenating as part of a full life? What if we resisted a set of expectations that aren’t in our best interests? What if we re-learned how to simply be?

It’s the weekend and a fabulous time to embrace and practice when opportunities for rest and play come our way. I’m feeling the courage to do so, how about you?
