In the recipe for a great workplace culture, I’d add a dash - or a dollop - of empathy and curiosity …

When we do, we can avoid the frustration and judgement that sits behind thoughts such as:

Doesn’t everyone know that?

Why don’t they get this?

Doesn’t everyone see that?

Surely they must believe this!?

Instead seeking out the value in the unique way each of us knows, sees, thinks and believes.

I wonder what they might know?

I’m curious about how others see this?

How can their thinking help us?

I can learn something from others.

Respecting and valuing the unique, one-in-8-billiion people we work with is at the heart of human workplaces, don’t you agree.
