Magnitude Of On-ness

What’s your ‘magnitude of on-ness?”

This term coined by a colleague in describing the seemingly-endless energy and enthusiasm of young children, has me wondering about our own levels of on-ness.

Of course, there’s no one level of on-ness (even in children) and we might find that we are …

Flick the switch people … on … off … on again …

Or

Wind up slowly people …

Or

Slow and steady tortoise-like people …

Or

Fast out of the block people …

Or

One hundred tabs open people …

Or

Deep, deep focus people …

Or

[insert your own definition of on-ness …]

And, of course, as with most things, OR is often an AND. We can find our on-ness varies and is situational.

As we ease back into work after the holiday period, asking ourselves what magnitude of on-ness we need this coming year, might be a great place to start, don’t you agree.
