Keep It Going
Say it’s not over.
Words from a song (or two), yes. And, words spoken - quietly and aloud - in workplaces everywhere over the last few weeks as we slowly but surely return after the holiday break.
As much as we might lament the inevitable return to work, when we (mostly) enjoy the work we do and the people we work with, there is a joy in reconnecting in the new year.
What’s interesting is that the joy can often be short-lived.
There can be a pressure to return to our serious, focused and productive selves as quickly as possible.
Perhaps there is a quick ‘happy new year’ and ‘how was your holiday?’ and we’re back to the grind. Let’s get on to that new year list.
What if we were to keep some of the holiday feel alive?
What if we were to resist the cult of productivity that had us desperate for the break in the first place?
What if we were to enter a new year with the intention of finding greater harmony in all that we do?
Change is always possible,
and this might just be a change worth making this coming year, don’t you agree?!
