Idea Butterflies

Ideas can be like butterflies.

Occasionally beautiful ones land on you. Until you attempt to catch them and then they flutter away ever so quickly.

As they fly away, you do your best to imprint every detail of their beauty into your brain. This is too good to forget.

However, the further they travel from you, the memory fades.

After spending almost all of a day doing my best to recall the beautiful butterfly of an idea that landed - momentarily - on me, I wonder …

How might I keep that butterfly catcher handy for the next time?
