Grace & Kindness

After the fifth attempt to do one thing, I realised that today’s word is focus. Speaking with others, I realise I’m not alone.

Those who know me have often heard me refer to my “full brain” feeling. Much like opening another tab on my internet browser, I have a tendency to expand what I’m holding open in my brain.

Over the years, I’ve developed many tools and techniques that help alleviate the full brain feeling, and allow me to focus, progress and achieve what I need and want to.

At certain times of year - now being one - my strong thinking bias means I fill my brain up even more than usual.

Whilst I won’t abandon my practices, such as:

getting things out of my head and on to paper - daily writing and making lists;

deep breathing and meditation; and

focusing on the one small thing that I can do right now,

I will add grace and kindness to myself to the repertoire this week.

How about you - are you struggling to focus because you’ve got that full brain feeling, and what are you adding to your self-care toolkit?
