Always Human

“We want everyone to feel comfortable.”
“We want to maximise participation.”
“We don’t want to make people worried or anxious.”

These are words I hear from leaders when I’m preparing for a presentation, workshop or team-building session. They are words I’m always pleased to hear.

It got me wondering how often these words are spoken on a daily basis.

❓ Do we get up each morning and consider how we can make each work day comfortable for our people?

❓ Do we go into a regular weekly meeting with the intention that it will enable inclusive and open participation?

❓ Do we recognise how all of our day to day decisions - big and small - may impact on people?

When we work within a culture where people are valued at all times, we create the psychological safety, openness and empowerment to do our best work every single day.

Human focused workplaces are good for humans, and for business, don’t you agree?
